Do you have it? Do you seek it?
We are so distracted by technology, life, family, work and our flesh. We get derailed by our emotions and the next thing you know, we feel far from God.
The world calls us into a false happiness and the enemy looks for every chance to whisper lies that we need that type of happiness too.
In Christ we have all that we could ever need. In Jesus we have ; success fulfillment joy love peace and any need that we may have is already met.
John 14:27 (NIV)
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
I do not give as the world gives...
Sometimes things happen that just don't make sense. We feel the need to figure things out and be in control. Sometimes we ask God to give us a sign or direction and then we find ourselves lost in ourselves once He does. Seeing how everything is on God's timing, sometimes our answer comes quick and sometimes slow.
There was a time when we prayed diligently for God to direct us. A few years later, a storm appeared in our life.
I was reminded of our prayers and instead of running around crazy in fear, I rejoiced!
I praised God for sealing a door that we were afraid of closing ourselves.
I was so excited to see what God had ahead for us. I was overwhelmed with knowing that He was shaping us and preparing us.
I rested in Him in a completely new way.
My husband was grateful for my response and it made our new journey much easier. We both gave God full control, and many thought that we were insane.
The world and our flesh scream out to us to panic.
But as children of God we are called to rejoice and to be thankful always.
Especially when we cannot see the next step.
To the people of the world that just doesn't make any sense. So many are prideful about their status, money and possessions.
It's easy to get so caught up in the world that eventually we feel lost without the empty pleasures of it.
But God doesn't give as the world gives.
His love, forgiveness, and eternal life are far greater than any created thing or being on this earth.
John 16:33 (NIV)
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Psalm 29:11 (NIV)
The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Psalm 34:14 (NIV)
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
How do we know what's good?
Well, here is where we begin..
Romans 12:2 (NIV)
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.
Psalm 63:1 (NIV)
A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for You, my whole being longs for You, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
My whole being longs for You!!
Beautiful words straight from a man after God's own heart.
Have you been there in that kind of despair? Where you know without a doubt that it is only God and He alone who can help you?
I have!
If you ever feel lost, forgotten or just stuck, please meditate on this verse.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
John 15:1-2 (NIV)
"I am the True Vine, and my Father is the Gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful"
(Read all of John 15)
We all need pruning and reshaping. In order to obtain newness, we sometimes have to allow the old to pass. We must ask for God to convict us of the things that we cling to and abide in Him as He shows us who He created us to truly become.
Courageous and radical sons and daughters of God!!
Isaiah 26:12 (NIV)
Lord, you establish peace for us;
all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
For to us a Child is born,to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
What an amazing Friend we have in Jesus!!!!
"What then are we to do about our problems? We must learn to live with them until such time as God delivers us from them. We must pray for grace to endure them without murmuring. Problems patiently endured will work for our spiritual perfecting. They harm us only when we resist them or endure them unwillingly"

Much love to you all.
